The European Board of Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery (EBOMFS) held its 2026 assessment in Athens from 12 to 14 September. A total of 118 candidates from 18 nationalities participated, assessed by 34 examiners in written and oral examinations.
Both the written and oral parts took place at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The written examination included multiple-choice questions, clinical cases and clinical images presented online.
More than 90% of candidates passed the assessment. The programme concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony on 14 September at the Eleftheriou Venizelou building.
The following week, representatives of the UEMS Section of Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery and EBOMFS were available during the European Association for Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery (EACMFS) Congress to exchange with visitors interested in future assessment sessions. Practice tests were also available to help prospective candidates become familiar with the examination format.
